Come on you guys! I rely on these comments when I am deciding on a shoe! So many commented on how these shoes ran small. I wear a 7.5, and so based on the comments I read over and over about going up a full size even, I went up 1/2 a size to 8. Aaaarggggh. I could see a gap between the back of my foot and the shoe! So now I am thinking of buying another pair in 7.5 [my true size] to see how those work and return a pair. I am not disappointed in the shoe -- love the shoe -- but I am disappointed in getting a shoe that is too big for me after waiting with anticipation for my shoes like it was Christmas! Sigh.

I wanted a simple leather ballet flat, so I ordered these based on the positive reviews. I usually wear an 8, sometimes an 8.5, and got these in an 8.5. The fit is really good, and the shoes seem to be of excellent quality; however, after a few minutes on, the gathered part on the heel started digging. My heel is a little on the narrow side, so it might work out great for most people. But I normally wouldn't pay this much for a shoe, and certainly not one I have to modify to make work for me. Unfortunately, I'm sending it back.

Very cute and stylish shoe. Order 1/2 size up! Even though the shoe is somewhat elevated by a rubber pad under the toe bed, the tips of the shoes get scuffed quickly. I'm a little disappointed in that. I will take this to a shoemaker to see how to replace without losing the rubber elevating pad. The same thing is happening in the back of the shoe under the heel. This could have been designed better with a rubber pad running along the whole length of the shoe. For this price I'm not too happy that I have to bring them in for repairs already!

At first I was impressed with how comfortable these shoes were from the very beginning. They are probably the first pair of shoes that I didn't need to break in and as such, received zero blisters. However, I've worn them maybe 10 times since I bought them near the end of June 2012 and I'm disappointed with the quality. They are a pretty pewter color that works well as a neutral, but that color looks to be painted on the leather (not dyed, probably due to pewter having a metallic finish). Well, the color is already wearing off in some places. I also noticed that the sole is wearing near the toe. I expected more of Cole Haan and I'll avoid this type of leather finish from now on...I should have gone for the black patent leather instead!

So disappointed. I searched and searched for the perfect black ballet flat and thought this was it. I used to have a pair by Edelstein I wore into the ground. The fit in the toe area is so odd I thought I'd switched the left and right shoes. I returned them and sized half up. They fit though still awkward but I thought I'd break them in. Instead the broke down. Little to no support and the underside gets scuffed up in the front making the show look shabby. Also, once the leather broke in it lost it's shape completely and looks like you're really wearing a ballet slipper (toes outlined an all). So not worth the price! Have gotten sturdier ballet flats at much lower price point. Heard this brand was excellent too so had very high expectations. Also, not flattering to your foot.

Sadly not worth the money. I didn't believe the other reviewers that these shoes were so uncomfortable -- I just thought they weren't being patient enough to break them in (since many of the well-crafted comfort-minded shoes require a lengthy break-in process). But I was wrong. After almost a year, they still literally cut my heels open whenever I wear them. They also started to wear down on the outsole almost immediately. And although seemingly well-cushioned, they hurt my back after wearing them. They do have absolutely stellar customer service, but I still find myself quietly wishing they could take returns on just this one miserably inferior used product. These shoes are pretty, but stick to Ecco, Frye, or Clarks.
